Vigilante Victimhood is when victims and self-styled victims break the law, ignore norms, and bypass institutions in order to grandiosely self-idealize, exact revenge, and secure entitlement to rights and benefits. Traditional victims accept victimhood as the way of the world. Identity victims compete with other victims for entitlements, status, and benefits.
The abused and the abuser
I have been both
You see me here in chains, reduced to nothing. But it has not always been thus. I was bound to this wretched place by the Bishops of the Old Faith. They betrayed me and left me to rot. Each of the four chains that bind me are guarded by one of the Bishops. Destroy the Bishops and you break the chain. Break all four and I will be freed. I gave you life anew, vessel, and now you must repay the debt. You know what must be done. To defeat the Bishops you will need to become stronger. Sacrifice a follower to absorb more power — this will aid you in your quest to free me.
Know the victim, and you were already halfway to understanding the killer.
— We're time bomb.
— You need to step away.
— Why shouldn't the guy let off a little steam.
— You know damn well why. Back off!
— I'm starting to want you to make me.
— Yeah. Big man in a suit of armour. Take that off, what are you?
— Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.
— I know guys with none of that worth ten of you. I've seen the footage. The only thing you really fight is yourself. You're not the guy to make the sacrifice play, to lay dawn on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you.
— I think I would just cut the wire.
— Always a way out. You may not be a threat, but you better stop pretending to be a hero.
— A hero? Like you? You're a laboratory experiment, Rogers. Everything special about you came out of a bottle.
The Victim is not really as helpless as he feels, the Rescuer is not really helping, and the Persecutor does not really have a valid complaint.
Healing Alcoholism by Claude Steiner PhD
If it is in our power to prevent something bad from happening, without thereby sacrificing anything of comparable moral importance, we ought, morally, to do it.
If you want to earn something, you need to reach out for it. To make your ambitions come true, you have to take risks. The larger the ambition the greater the risk. That might involve time or enough work to affect your lifespan… So make your choice. Live in peace as a wannabe or risk losing it all to reach the very top.
We dedicate
We sacrifice
Endless days and sleepless nights
The payment, the price
And finally
Here we are
In order to accomplish anything, sacrifices must be made.
