Your life matters. Don't regret living. There's nothing wrong with wanting to be happy. Thinking the only way to end your suffering is through death is terrible. You weren't born to suffer. And you shouldn't. No child should ever feel that way. If your world is filled with more pain than happiness... If you're wishing your life was over just to end the despair... If you're wandering the world feeling like you don't belong in it... That's not your fault. It's the fault of the world you live in and the people responsible for it. No one person should ever carry the entire weight of the world on their shoulders...especially not a child. No matter how many horrible things you've done, no matter how many unforgivable offenses you've committed... It should NEVER be that way. It's not your responsibility. The duty should fall to the adults in your life. I'll be the one to take responsibility.

There are millions and millions of Eva Smiths and John Smiths still left with us, with their lives, their hopes and fears, their suffering and chance of happiness, all intertwined with our lives in what we think and say and do. We don't live alone upon this earth. We are members of one body. We are responsible for each other. And if mankind will not learn that lesson, then the time will, soon, when he will be taught it in fire and blood and anguish.

It would be if it were doctrine. But it is merely an observation on the nature of reality. To say that nothing is true is to realise that the foundations of society are fragile and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say that everything is permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions and that we must live with our consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
Responsibility — a detachable burden easily shifted to the shoulders of God, Fate, Fortune, Luck or one's neighbor.
