— I give the truths of to-morrow.
— I prefer the mistakes of to-day.
Everyone wants to know their future until they know their future.
No matter what the future holds, ultimately it will be a disappointment.
— Nothingness. Non-existence. Black emptiness.
— What did you say?
— Oh, I was just planning my future.
And maybe by imaging these futures we can make them real., and maybe not, but either way we must imagine them.
Everything I've ever cared about, everything I've worked for... has all been preparation for a future that no longer exists.
The past could always be annihilated. Regret, denial, or forgetfulness could do that. But the future was inevitable.
If a prediction is right, then it’s like you only have one future. Like that future has been decided. But if it’s wrong, then you have an almost infinite number of possibilities. And that means that even the tiniest twist of fate can change your future. I want to believe that I have choices – that the path I walk has many different turns, and many different roads to follow!
